Connect your point of sale
Surfside connects directly to your POS through its API, which allows the systems to exchange data automatically. Once connected, store purchases flow into Surfside on a schedule, with no exports or file transfers on your side.
What we need from you: Your POS provider name, participating stores, and the access details requested by your Surfside representative. Some providers use a separate API key for each location; we’ll help you find what’s needed and provide a secure way to share it.
What Surfside handles: We guide the connection setup, configure the imports, and check that your store data is coming through correctly.
What the connection brings in
| Data | How it’s used |
|---|---|
| Transactions | Measures in-store sales after ad exposure and builds purchase-based audiences. |
| Products and categories | Lets audiences be built around what people buy, such as a brand or category. |
| Store locations | Keeps results and audiences accurate per store. |
| Customer records, where your POS holds them | Builds customer audiences without a separate CRM connection. |
Customer identifiers are hashed before matching, and Surfside never uses raw personal information for targeting. See Data onboarding for how we protect data at each step.
Supported platforms
Tell your representative which platform you use. The guides below describe how each provider issues access.
| Platform | How access is granted | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Blaze | Your representative coordinates access with Blaze. | Blaze |
| Flowhub | Request an API key and client ID from Flowhub. | Flowhub |
| LeafLogix | Approve the release of API keys to Surfside. One key per location. | LeafLogix |
| Magento 2 | Create an integration access token in your Magento admin. | Magento 2 |
| MJ Freeway | Approve Surfside’s key request with MJ Freeway. | MJ Freeway |
| Shopify | Authorize Surfside from the platform, no keys to copy. | Shopify |
| Stripe | Generate API keys in your Stripe dashboard. | Stripe |
| Treez | Ask Treez to release API keys to Surfside. | Treez |
Your representative will walk you through the request for your provider and give you a secure way to share anything sensitive. Never send API keys by email or chat.
Don’t see your POS? Tell your Surfside representative which platform you use. We’ll coordinate a new integration, help obtain the necessary access and provider information, and keep you informed of the timing. Surfside handles the work to add the platform as a native connection.
Following along in the platform
Surfside sets up the connection for you. If you’d like to follow along:
- Sign in to Surfside and select the + beside Sources.
- Select the POS tab, find your provider, and choose Create.
- Enter the account, source name, and provider details requested on Define Source Attributes. Your Surfside representative will guide you through access details and import settings.
- Select Review and complete the setup. We’ll check the connection and confirm when it’s ready.
The fields vary by provider, so you don’t need to work out the settings in advance.
How we validate
Before launch, Surfside confirms that:
- Every participating store is connected and reporting.
- Transactions are arriving for the agreed date range and continue on schedule.
- Products, categories, and store locations are populated.
- Totals look right against what you expect to see.
If anything needs your attention, such as a store that’s missing a key, your representative will let you know.
