Zones

A zone is a critical component of the Surfside platform that enables advertisers to target specific areas on a website for displaying their advertising content. A zone is where an advertising creative is rendered on a web page, and there may be multiple zones set up on a single page of a website. By targeting campaigns to specific zones, advertisers can ensure that their ads are displayed in the most relevant areas of the webpage, increasing the likelihood of engagement and conversions.

One of the primary advantages of zones is that they support specific ad types, which gives advertisers the ability to target campaigns to a certain zone but not to other spots on the page. This granular targeting ability ensures that ads are displayed in the most effective locations, leading to higher click-through rates and improved ROI.

The following parameters are supported by zones:

  • Site ID: The site's unique identifier
  • Channel ID: The associated parent Channel for the Site
  • Zone ID: the zone's unique identifier
  • Title: The zone's name - This parameter enables the advertisers to give a name to the specific zone, making it easier to manage and organize within the platform.
  • URL: Link to the zone (validated URL format) - This parameter provides the URL of the zone, ensuring that the correct page is targeted for ad placement.
  • Width: Width of the zone in pixels - This parameter defines the width of the zone in pixels, ensuring that ads are displayed at the correct size.
  • Height: Height of the zone in pixels - This parameter defines the height of the zone in pixels, ensuring that ads are displayed at the correct size.
  • Ad Types: Array of supported ad types (from available) - This parameter defines the ad types that are supported within the specific zone. This ensures that only the most relevant ads are displayed in the zone, improving engagement rates.
  • Comments: Any additional comments or notes about the zone - This parameter enables advertisers to provide additional notes or comments about the zone, making it easier to manage and optimize ad campaigns.

In summary, zones are a critical component of the Surfside platform that enables advertisers to target specific areas on a website for displaying their advertising content. By supporting specific ad types and providing granular targeting ability, zones ensure that ads are displayed in the most effective locations, leading to higher engagement rates and improved ROI. The parameters supported by zones enable advertisers to manage and optimize ad campaigns efficiently within the platform.
